Robert Polidori 1951年出生在加拿大蒙特利尔，母亲是加拿大人，父亲是科西嘉人，10岁的时候搬到美国，1969年到了纽约，并找到了一个电影摄影助理的工作。1980年他得到了纽约州立大学布法罗分校的文学硕士学位，后来他把注意力就集中到了图片摄影上。1987年他开始生活在纽约和巴黎。后来他成为《纽约客》杂志的专职摄影师，同时也为其他的杂志工作，比如《名利场》。

一看这就是给牛逼媒体工作的哥们，一般人很难得到机会到这种地方区拍照。画面严谨，讲究。有非常好的气氛。
